Admissions

We feel it is important that parents and carers make an informed decision as to which school they would prefer their child(ren) to attend, and feel that there is no substitute for visiting any school that you are considering. Mangotsfield School has an Open Evening in September each year but, if you are unable to attend, please contact the school to make an appointment to view the School when convenient.

If your child is starting school for the first time in September or transferring from Year 6 Primary School to Year 7 Secondary School, please visit our transition page for a wealth of further information.

In-year Admissions

If you have moved into the local area during the school year, or you are already resident in South Gloucestershire and wish to move your child to another school, please contact Mangotsfield School on 01454 862700 or email man-info@cset.co.uk

From September 2025 Please contact the school for information regrading place availability.

Our staffing structure is built around the following cohorts:

  • Year 7 - 270 (in 2025-26 the planned admission number was increased to 270 in response to the shortage of school places linked to the Lyde Green Secondary opening deferral)
  •  Year 8 - 270
  • Year 9 - 240
  • Year 10 - 240
  • Year 11 – 210

We update this information on at least a termly basis to ensure it is accurate and up to date. If you are enquiring about a place mid-year, please do contact the school and we will be able to confirm whether any places have very recently become available.

Please note, Key Stage 4 subjects that are full to capacity may be unavailable to students being admitted mid-year into Years 10 and 11.
